In line at the checkout of a grocery store the headline stared at me, “Bigfoot was my Grandmother”. It was the Weekly World News so you look at it and say that it is just a made up story to garner attention. They were famous for the Bat Boy stories, and Aliens were abducting world leaders according to them. So, you blow it off and move on. You don’t think much of it, at least I didn’t.
I didn’t until many years later when I met the man, the myth and the legend. Even at that it took me quite some time to put all the pieces together. Even at that, I am still not sure I believe it.
Anyway, that story is totally true. I have met the man that had, or has, Bigfoot as his Granny. The story is that of our local legend, Dooley the KStar Janitor.
As has been told here before, no one really knows of his past. He just appeared one day, out of the blue. But as I thought about that headline, it all started to become all too clear that Dooley is a long lost descendant of Bigfoot. There is no other way to explain him.
There is the smell. He has the smell of a beast that has lived in the forest, topped with the musky scent of something or someone that is looking for one of their kind in heat. There could be other explanations, but this seems most plausible, because even when he showers that musky scent still lingers.
There is the hair. Oh, there is the hair. It is all over him from head to toe he is covered in thick bristles of what can be explained no other way than human fur. Outside of an old college roomate named Troy, I have never seen a man with more hair in my life.
Finally, there has never been a picture of Dooley taken that we can find. There have been several attempts, but they are blurry. Just like the pictures of bigfoot. You can neither confirm nor deny that it is true or not.
Anyway, keep tuning in the 06.1 KStar to try and keep track of our beloved Dooley and the rest of the gang.
